Choose Your Own Adventure - Graphic Design Exhibition | 7-29 June at the Bluecoat, Liverpool
The future is bleak. Everything revolves around the past. Fatalism…helplessness…or the opposite: utopian visions. The visuals are kitsch, the covers dictate the content, the railway is revived, the headlines are imagined, the transportation system wants to move from implicit to explicit, and the orientalism – the self-orientalising is running wild.
The design_atelier's latest exhibition will open on the 7th of June as part of the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival in Liverpool. Specially commissioned for the Bluecoat, the exhibition is on until 29 June and features the work of designers and illustrators Marwa Boukarim, Aya Jaffar, Lama Khayyat, Dina Khorchid, Maures, Cynthia Merhej, Mohammed Mousa, Studio Kanaba, and Marwan Shahin. The exhibition also features a special talk "Political graphics of the Arab streets: Posters of Resistance/Graffiti as Resistance" by Zeina Maasri.
